ITANAGAR, Aug 4: ” The public of ICR may have gone through severe inconveniences due heavy traffic congestion in the last few days, but the traffic congestion has reduced significantly as compared to the old days,” claimed Superintendent of Police, ICR, Jimmy Chiram.
Chiram who rushed to control the traffic supported by traffic wardens supported and police force attributed bad road condition at some places in the ICR which is causing jams presently.
“ The traffic jam in the state capital has reduced drastically due to the strict parking rules imposed by the DA. The present scenario is due to few choking point owing to bad conditions of road at some places owing to to which the traffic had to be diverted into one lane leading to overcrowding,” he informed.
Chiram said that the movement of vehicles under ICR on Wednesday was recorded as waiting time of less than 5 minutes to cover a distance of 500 metres.
” The people of ICR had to face inconveniences for the past few days, however, due to hard efforts put in by the traffic wardens supported by the police force led by OC, SDPO , Nahralgun with active assistance provided DYSP, (Traffic), the congestion eased on Wednesday,” Chiram said.
It is worth mentioning here that the traffic congestion caused a lot of frustration to the commuters, especially in case of medical emergencies and for those trying follow the clock to complete daily tasks before the commencement of the curfew hours.It is to mention that on Tuesday an unpresidented traffic jam was witness across the National highway-415 and arteral roads of capital complex.
