SIC made 2nd arrest in 28 illegal teacher appointment case of Longding district

Manoj Singh || ITANAGAR, Aug 03: The Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police, which is investigating the illegal appointment of 28 primary teachers in Longding district, arrested one more person identified as Jashi Wangsu (40), who is a Trained Graduate Teacher (Accountant).

The arrest was made after detailed interrogation & technical analysis by SIC (Vigilance). This is the 2nd arrest in the case, and the 2nd person arrested is an accountant of DDSE Longding district, informed SIC (Vig) SP Anant Mittal.

Earlier, the SIC also arrested retired government official, Jomdo Lona (61), the then Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), Longding, for his alleged involvement in the job scam.

It is to be mentioned that the state government has terminated all 28 primary teachers following the recommendation of a three-member Fact-Finding Committee constituted by Education Minister Taba Tedir after receiving allegations of illegal appointments by All Longding Students’ Union (ALSU) and various other organizations, as highlighted in the media.

Subsequently, based on the committee report findings, the SIC (Vigilance) Police Station here has registered a case under Sections 120(B)/420/409/468/471 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Sec 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act, 1988.

The investigation into the illegal appointments is ongoing, and all facets of the case are being thoroughly investigated, the SP said.”
