Secretary inaugurates office building of the Panchayati Raj Parishad

NAHARLAGUN, OCTOBER 21 : The office of the All Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Parishad (AAPPRP) has been  inaugurated by Secretary (Rural Development & Panchayati Raj), Amarnath Talwade here at Papu nallah today in the presence of AAPPRP, President Biri Santi Nido secretary General  Tadu Bayor and other ZPMs and executive members of the organisation.

Speaking to newsperson, Talwade inform that the official ordinance for the devolution of powers of the Panchayati Raj will be issued before 1st April, 2022 as the plan is to prepare the Zilla Parishad stakeholders first by orientation through training and capacity building at administrative institute and other places. 

During the coming months of November, December and January, the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) will develop a training schedule and provide orientation for the PRI members, He said. 

The PRI members of Arunachal will also receive exposure in other states also where the Panchayati Raj is already prevailing and functioning smoothly in order to help them better understanding of role, responsibility and duties of local body in rural development and gram swaraj. He said. 

Apart from that, the Gram Panchayat Members will also be trained, which will help them enhance their skills in Gram Panchayat development plans and decision making skills at the grass root level, he  added.

Meanwhile Santi Nido express her excitement over the new office building establishment and conveyed her gratitude to the Secretary,  RD, Panchayat Raj and Home Minister Bamang Felix and the Chief Minister Pema Khandu for their efforts in realizing the dream of devolution of powers for the PRIs for better development of rural Arunachal Pradesh.

She further added that the establishment of the office will help the PRIs to enhance their performance in hearing and solving the grievances from various districts.

ZPMs of several other district were also present on the occasion.
