Science & Technology and RWD Minister Honchun Ngandam visited DBT-APSCS&T for BRSD

 KIMIN, APRIL 24 : The Minister for Science & Technology and RWD Honchun Ngandam along with other stakeholders of Arunachal Pradesh state council for science & Technology has visited the newly constructed the DBT-APSCS&T centre for excellence for Bioresource & sustainable development at Kimin in Papum Pare district and inspected the building premise and interacted the officers of the centre.

Ngandam informed the press that this is one of the important and innovative projects which would deal with several innovative and scientific interventions in all walks of life and also for rural technology which would help life easier in comparison to earlier days.

This is an important project for the state where scientists and researchers of state and nearby would be able to work with devotion and dedication for new innovative ideas for scientific intervention in the rural and urban technology. He said.

 The centre will cater to the needs of scientific, biotechnological intervention and research in developing the bioresource for its conservation and sustainable utilization for improvement of socio-economic status of tribal people of state. the researchers and scientists will also develop quality and technique with the help of technology for development. He said.

He further inform that the building has been constructed with fund from the department of science & Technology, Government of India and it was supposed to the inaugurated today by Union Minister for Science & Technology and Health & Family Welfare Dr. Harshavardhan but due to surge on 2nd wave of Covid in the country the programme has been postponed, however the scientist and research will continue to work and carry out their normal duty of the department following all SoP of the Covid issued by state government and health department.

Chairman, APSCS&T Bamang Mangha informed that the centre will help in sustainable development of bioresource by using tools and modern biology. This centre and the experts will generate technological packages for employment generation and economic progress of the state. it will also help to produce human development as well as technological support for scientists and researchers of state and nearby states of the region.

Lawmaker Wangling Sawin and other senior officers of the department of science & Technology were present on the occasion.
