Santi Sikom given warm welcome on arrival after winning silver medal at Sri Lanka.

NAHARLAGUN, DEC 1 : Santi Sikom and others who won medal in 6th South Asian Karate championship-2022 at Colombo, Sri Lanka were given away with rousing welcome on their arrival at Naharlagun railway station on Thursday.

Several parents, family members, relatives and well wishers welcome the medal winners at railway station and motivated the players.  

Several leaders of Tagin community and Tator welfare society, all Tagin youth organization also attended the welcome ceremony at railway station.

It is to mention that the five member team of karatakas from Arunachal Pradesh takes part in 6th South Asian karate championship-2022 from November 27 to 29 held at Colombo in Sri Lanka. 

The South Asian karate championship-2022 was held at Colombo, Sri Lanka wherein cadet, junior, U21 and senior has taken part. 5 members players form state take part. The championship was organized by South Asian Karate federation (SAKF), hosted by Sri Lanka karate-do federation (SLKF) under ministry of Sports in Sri Lanka.

As per information Tachi Bagang-senior, 50 KG-Gold, Deepak Jomoh-Junior-55 KG-Gold, Santi Sikom-U21-50 KG-Silver, Lokam Naime-Junior individual kata-bronze and team kata-silver medal, Namsai Bagbi-cadet boy-63 KG Gold.

Tator Santi Sikom, D/O Tator Rakie Sikom is a student of BA 5th semiser from Government College, Daporijo in Upper Subansiri district and at present reside at IG Park area of Itanagar and is actively associated with Karate.
