NAHARLAGUN, AUGUST 9 : The officers, officials, technician, pipefitters and linemen are working round the clock in restoration work of water supply pipelines of Naharlagun and Nirjuli township. Informed Naharlagun PHED division Executive Engineer Teli Dutto Camdir.
Camdir inform that the main water supply pipeline of 300 mm dia to Naharlagun coming from Nyorch has been damaged due to flash flood at Borum area nearly railway station main gate on Monday wee hours. Since then the water supply to Naharlagun and some parts of Nirjuli township has been badly affected. EE said.
Even though the restoration work has started since yesterday by taking a diversion of pipe around 150 meters. The restoration work is going on war footing. The normal water supply to Naharlagun and Nirjuli township will take another two days. He said.
The water tankers have been pressed into service to various sector to mitigate the supply till the restoration work is completed. The EE added.
The PHED EE Teli has appeal the consumer of Naharlaugn and Nirjuli township to bear with the inconvenience.
