Republic Day Celebrations Resonate Across Upper Siang District

Yingkiong, Jan 26: The 75th Republic Day unfolded with grandeur at the general ground in Yingkiong, as Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang, along with dignitaries like Minister Alo Libang and Superintendent of Police Token Saring, marked the occasion. Lailang emphasized the day’s significance, paying tribute to freedom fighters and urging commitment to an inclusive and equal society.

Addressing the public, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the district’s developmental achievements, urging citizens to contribute to a clean and green Yingkiong while discouraging the use of single-use plastics. He called for public support during the upcoming general elections, ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process.

The festivities featured vibrant cultural presentations, PT displays, marching contingents, and a felicitation ceremony for meritorious government employees. Across Mariyang and Tuting, additional flag-hoisting ceremonies took place, accompanied by cultural showcases, commendation certificates for officials, and a display of developmental schemes.
