RAR surrendered high noise silencer pipe to the District Administration

ITANAGAR, SEPT 18 : The Itanagar traffic cell under Dy SP traffic, Nobin Jomoh in an initiative to control noise pollution, invited the Royal Arunachal Riders (RAR) to surrender their high noise cylinder pipe fitted making aftermarket exhaust mufflers at the police station here today, to which the riders readily complied.

As an initiative on the first day of the programme Fifteen riders of RAR surrendered their exhaust mufflers which were then destroyed on the spot using an excavator (JCB). The said initiative is the beginning of a campaign to limit the noise pollution in the state, said Dy SP Jomoh, he further mentioned that the traffic cell will be dealing strictly with noise pollution violators from now on.

Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner, Talo Potom appreciated the efforts of the traffic cell and expressed his gratitude to the riders of RAR. He said that further innovative ways are being planned to effectively control the traffic scenario in the capital complex, like starting bus services for secretariat, highway repairs and so on.

He also said that the appointed date to the concessionaire of Package-C has been given two month back and hoped the work and other process started. With regard to Package-B Potom said that the disbursement of compensation in progress while the dismantling of assets on ROW is also begun and hope the clearing on the ROW and others dismantling are taken up soon and the land is handed over for further starting of works. Potom said.

Capital SP, Jimmy Chiram paid his gratitude to the riders of RAR for participating in the cause while pointing out that tolerance for noise from a vehicle is 70 decibels and the modified or aftermarket exhausts produce more than 95 decibels, he congratulated Dy SP traffic on the success of the said event and handed him with a certificate of appreciation.

Chief rider of the RAR, Rohit Jomoh said he has spoken to the chiefs of all the other biking clubs of Arunachal Pradesh like Arunachal Bullet Club (ABC), Gliding Pirhanas, Gorkha Riders, 33 North and Siang Riders and that they are all willing to surrender their exhausts and support the cause as well.

This initiative will go a long way in surrendering the noise cylinder pipe by others.
