Manoj Singh || ITANAGAR, SEPT 20 : The PWD Advisor and MLA Phosum Khimhun directed the highway authority to immediately start with construction of bridge over river Papu at Papunallah near beginning of Package-B on NH-415 in capital city and immediately restore and repair the road between Itanagar & Hollongi for smooth movement of traffic in capital complex.
Addressing the engineers of highway department, authority engineers and contractors and representatives of several road construction project of state under ministry of road transport highway (MoRTH) here at conference hall of Nirman bahwan in city. The advisor said that we are here to carry forward the mush needed projects specially the project which has directed attachment with the economy and other development of state through connectivity. The road sector is the most important connectivity of our state than to airways, waterway and other form of connectivity like of digital etc and thousand of kilometer of road are under progress and several projects has been completed. He said.
Almost all the road project of state under Naharlagun, Ziro, Pasighat, Jairampur, Khonsa divisional officers presented their work progress and report card of their work activities which were reviews by all the officers of highway department. Several roads projects under Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) and bridge project like bridge on river pare near Hoj, road in East Siang, West Siang, Siang, Tirap, Longding, Changlang, Upper Subansiri, Lower Subansiri, Kmale, Papum Pare and capital complex were update were discussed and various issued related to activities were shown through power point presentation. He said.
Project work related to road construction with regards to drainage & protection wall, road signage and project facilities, major and minor bridges, culverts, BC, DBM, WMM, hoax culvert, bricks wall, retaining wall, physical progress and financial progress were discussed and several suggestion, advice and necessary direction were issued to the authority engineer, technical officers and contractor to fast track the work and quality of work and progress and development. Said Khimhun.
We discussed several road project like of Potin-Pangin road of package-I to IX.
We discussed the physical and financial work progress with a target and surveillance and monitoring with four lane road construction of Package-B & C in capital complex form Papunallah-to Nirjuli to Banderdewa. We also take review on the update of the work construction of Viaduct Bridge near Nirjuli and flyover in Naharlagun. He said.
Some land compensation has left behind for payment in Lower Subansiri and Kamle district and it will be taken up with the government for further perusal and consideration. He said.
Since the upcoming airport at Hollongi is about to be inaugurated so necessary direction has been given to the highway official to expedite the work progress of renovation, repairing and maintenance including carpeting work and tender (LOI) and other orders has been issued. With regard to four lane road, the PWD advisor said that the since the package B has already started the work but due to non start of bridge over river Papu at Papunallah creates traffic jam so the highway authority has been directed to start the bridge construction work. He added.
The highway Chief engineer S Sumnyan said that the review of the projects are necessary to update ourselves and also make the stake holders to propose and include new technology intervention and strengthening of work force and work progress and update. He said.
The review meeting was done for several road project which are of public importance in connectivity and development. None of the project are delayed in timing but most of the projects are going well and few of them has been completed while few are at the verge of completion. Necessary direction, advice and suggestion were given to the agency, engineers, contractors, consultant and others for fast trek and smooth and work progress. He said.
Total 532 Kilometers are in progress and all the projects are on schedules and hope that it does not get delayed due to any problem. He said.
Around 8 projects and another proposed for around two thousand kilometer and send to central government. He said
After TAH the major project would be taken up in state would be the frontier highway. We have put consultant for preparation DPR and it would be taken up in 9 packages. All DPRs would be ready by March 2023 and after that we will send it the Ministry for further consideration and approval. CE Highway added.
Several other officials of the highway department, authority engineer, contractors, representatives and consultants shared their views and suggestion and update the work progress of several roads projects of state.
