ITANAGAR, 8 Mar: Nine women personality of state of in their respective field was conferred the “Women Achievers Award” on Wednesday at the DK Convention Centre here on the occasion of international womens day.
Everester Anshu Jamsenpa was awarded for her ‘bravery and courage’, Khesang Lhamu Khirmey was awarded in the field of ‘environment protection’. Ngurang Meena was awarded for creating education and training and the street library as she has been associated was also appreciated, Omoti Tekseng and Minam Tekseng was awarded in the ‘sports and adventure’ category.
Journalist and entrepreneur Roshni Pering was awarded in the field of ‘economic and social empowerment, Sangi Thungon was awarded in the field of ‘art & culture’. Millo Kunya was awarded in the field of science and innovation while Leegang Ania was awarded for empowering the women.
In institutional catogery the East Kameng Sangcha Ane Marketing Cooperative Society, Seppa was awarded in the field of “ agriculture-horticulture and rural industry including promotion to technology to reduce drudgery/ exceptional women entrepreneurs, Ramakrishna Sarada Mission School in Tirap Khonsa was awarded for implementation of women related legislation/ gender mainstreaming/ creating positive environment in favourof women.
The other two awards which include Arunachal women and child welfare society (AW & CWS), Lower Dibang Valley, Dambuk was awarded for contribution toward support and rehabilitation of women and children specially the destitute women and children , widow, victims of atrocities, PwD women’s and children’s and Banggo women welfare association, Upper Siang district, Yingkiong was awarded for outstanding contribution to women endeavors, community works or making a difference for the welfare and wellbeing of women and children’s.
The award were given away at the DK Convention centre on Wednesday on the occasion of international women day celebration where large number of women’s community, organization and other eminent personality were present.
Minister Health & Family welfare, Women & Child development and SJETA Alo LIbang give away the prizes in presence of Hayuliang MLA and WCD Minister Advisor Dasanglu Pul, Secretary Opak Gao, Jt Secretary Jalash Pertin, WCD Director TP Loyi and others.
The guest and eminent personalities also take part in day long IWD celebration and witness several cultural and other activities which were related to the household activities and drug menace and rehabilitating and global warming.
