NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project signed an MoU

Dollungmukh, Sept. 19: Under its CSR-SD initiatives, NHPC’s 2000 MW Subansiri Lower HE Project today  signed an MoU with M/s Institute of Integrated Resource Management for promoting “Pig Farming”  under the aegis of Anne Yurum Self Help Group for the  livelihood enhancement of Rural Women of Dollungmukh Circle, Distt Kamle, Arunachal Pradesh

The MoU was signed in the presence of Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC and Vipin Gupta, Executive Director, Subansiri Lower HE Project and other senior officials of NHPC. 

This initiative in Skill Development and Livelihood Enhancement is undertaken as part of the CSR & SD Policy of NHPC. As per the initiative, 03 female and one male piglet shall be provided to 30 nos of women folk and piglet sheds shall also be constructed. Provision has also been kept for their feeding, medicines and vaccination for which a trained Veterinary worker is also deployed to assist in vaccination-training and medical care of piglets. 

Speaking on the occasion, Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC reiterated NHPC’s commitment towards all round development of the people in and around its project areas.

Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) alongwith Vipin Gupta, Executive Director, also inaugurated the Office of  Anne Yurum Self Help Group, Dollungmukh Circle, established for livelihood enhancement of rural women folk.
