Ngandam urged stakeholders to work for the development of the state in self-reliance with scientific and technological intervention

ITANAGAR, SEPT 21 : The Minister for Science & Technology & RWD Honchun Ngandam on Tuesday urged upon all the officers of department of science & Technology and institution working in the field to update themselves and also involve others with scientific intervention for self reliant and to minimize the work with the support of updated technology and scientific intervention for development of state and country.

Ngandam was addressing a meeting of officers and officials of science & Technology department and institution working with science & technology in state in virtual mode as part of Azadi ka amrit mahotsav launched nationwide on 2nd September under one month one theme by Union Minister for Science & Technology (Independent charge) Dr. Jitendra Singh.

Science & Technology is a key to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s atma nirbhar bharat and state science & Technology council has a major role to play. Science & Technology is a basic prerequisite for self reliant India and the country is going to play a big role in the scientific world through coordinated efforts of centre and state. Ngandam said.

We are celebrating the 75th year of India independence which should not be limited to just one ceremony and such celebration should continue until the goal is reached and we should determine that scientific and technological intervention innovation is achieved in all walks of life. He said.

The celebration is directly related to Vigyan utsav through the identified theme we may be able to connect all the institutions working in the field of science & technology to project the entire ecosystem and be able to connect the larger areas and stakeholders which would decently lead to state development. He said.

Arunachal Pradesh state council for science & Technology (APSCS&T) Bamang Mangha in his address said that our state bordering several state and country with high terrain, high mountain and deep valley but Lagging behind several infrastructure, but in due course of time the state government with coordination centre we are trying our best effort in scientific intervention. We have a science centre, planetarium, innovation hub, science park and also the most important is our DBTL (Biotechnology centre which has come up at Kimin. It will be inaugurated soon. He said.

We are planning to construct a centre of excellence with several other facilities at the land available in the city and for which we are in touch with a funding agency for the same.

Apart from normal research programmes the department has been doing geo tagging for all the schemes and work of proper monitoring and progress and development. Need based technology is being focused for upliftment of the income of the people and enabling them to become self-reliant for which we are encouraging networking collaboration with different technology providers and promoting entrepreneurship. Mangha added.

M S Lodhi, NEIST principal scientist Dr. C Tamuly, APSCST Scientist Bamang Apo takes part in the discussion.
