More than 6000 packets of tobacco products have been disposed off, AP Civil sect has been turned into a smoking free zone

ITANAGAR, In a bid to maintain the Arunachal Pradesh civil secretariat a tobacco free zone the Arunachal Pradesh civil secretariat administration has disposed off more than 6000 packets of tobacco products which were seized from the visitors at the entry gate of the secretariat during the working hours.

Under secretary, GAD Okang Perme informed that the AP Civil Secretariat has been declared as tobacco free zone and due to which the visitors have been restricted to bring any types of tobacco product into the secretariat campus. The administration has accordingly issued necessary orders for the same, even otherwise consumption of tobacco is harmful for the health and causes several dreaded diseases and kills, it is a humble beginning and an awareness to the people that to avoid the consumption of tobacco for a healthier life and better future. Perme said.

The tobacco products which have been disposed of today were seized from the visitors during the last two months and we continue to do so and the order has been implemented keeping in view of the health of the staff and officials of the secretariat and the visitors attending the campus for official purpose in future too. 

Security officer, T Ronya said that during the frisking at the main gate we use to check the tobacco products and other necessary, we seized the tobacco products which has been banned in the campus, tobacco products is not permitted in the campus and we use to carry awareness among the officers and staffs in various blocks from time to time. he urge upon the visitors not to bring any tobacco products while visiting Civil secretariat.  

Today is a special occasion of national constitution day and the disposal is being done in presence of more than hundreds of students from 26 districts who are on an exposure tour as an awareness and several officers of the secretariat to make them aware of the products.
