Mopin celebration at Deomali, Lowang appeal the people to work for preservation of aged old culture and tradition

ITANAGAR, Apr 8 : The Minister for PHED, IT & E governance and DOTCL Wangki Lowang on Saturday has taken part in Mopin celebration being celebrated by the people of Galo community residing in Deomali and Namsangmukh area of Tirap district.


Addressing the occasion as chief guest the Minister Lowang express his happiness the way and manner the Mopin being celebrated in most befitting manner by the people of Galo Welfare Society Deomali-Namsangmukh.


Lowang expressed the concern about gradual loss of culture of the state and stressed on conservation of culture and language. He also shared his concern about climate change and conservation of forest as well. He appeal the people to work for protection and preservation of aged old culture and tradition of various tribal community of state.

Mythology of Mopin was readout which was listen by the gathering.
Various cultural dances, and Popvr, group traditional dance of Mopin were performed by various groups form the destrict.


The Celebration was participated by Khonsa Popir group led by the DC Tirap Hento Karga, District and Session Court Judge Ito Basar and Khonsa DDSE Hortum Loyi.


The program was witnessed by ADC Deomali Vishaka Yadav, Wangphoon Lowang All the HODs and officials of Deomali administrative sub division also attended the program.
