Locals urge upon the treasury officer to meet up the scarcity of NJSP of Rs. 5 and Rs 10

ITANAGAR, JULY 8 ; The local denizens of Itanagar capital complex has appeal and urge upon the treasury officer of state capital to meet up the scarcity and shortage of non judicial stamp paper (NJSP) of small denomination of Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 respectively.

The locals allege that it has been observed that the Non judicial stamp paper (NJSP) of Rs. 5 and 10 has not been given on payment to the customers when asked for and the officials sitting in the counter at Treasury office (TO) simply say that they are out of stock. This system is a matter of concern that several people who are in need of the NJSP of Rs. 5 and 10 have to buy higher denominations and have to waste money.

However when contacted, the Itanagar Treasury officer Gautam Saha informed that we have a huge quantity of NJSP of Rs. 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000,10000 etc and accordingly we have stamp duty of all denomination and it is equally reliable and can be used in place of the NJSP in all related works.

He shared that there are stocks of lakhs of NJSP of higher denomination and accordingly we have placed the order/requisition for small denomination and it is expected that due to lockdown it was delayed.

The TO further informed us that we had placed the order in March itself but could not receive the consignment. Today again the order has been placed. Till such time anyone who needs the NJSP of a smaller denomination can use the stamp duty as an alternative and its value is also the same and equally recognized by all the departments and organizations for all purposes.

As per information the Itanagar Treasury office on Thursday has placed order of NJSP of smaller denomination of Rs. 5, 10 and 20 respectively to Director of Land Management, Itanagar on the basis of monthly and half yearly requirement report to meet the local demand and requisition from district.
