LMCA team conducted inspections of various shops and petrol pumps. 

ITANAGAR, MARCH 1 : The team of enforcement officers and others from department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs, (LMCA) led by Debia Tana, Asstt. Controller (Enforcement) HQ. office Visited East and some parts of Central Zone of state from 22nd to 27th Feb.2022 and inspected several shops and other consumer related establishments to ensure the proper consumer related activities and created awareness among the consumers on the spot.

The team led by Debia Tana, A.C (Enforcement) HQ office Naharlagun inspected District Offices and Trading Premises of Pasighat, Roing, Tezu, Namsai, Bordumsa and Changlang for Field Mobilisations team of the department for Gearing up of Enforcement activities for interest of Consumers in particular and for State in general. 

A press release issued in this regard said that during the official tour Assistant Controller Debia Tana along with his team has visited some Petrol Pump Units at Namsai, Roing, Pasighat, Tea Factories , M/s Ather Breweries L.L.T (Wine Blending Factory) Namsai and Readymade Garment Shops at Pasighat , Roing, Tezu, Namsai and Changlang. Visiting Officer with Legal Metrology Officer of Districts advised Petrol Depot’s Owners and operators to deliver Petroleum Products as paid for without any manipulation during the delivery in the Premises. 

The team directed the shop owners and depot managers and factory owners to keep the weight and measuring equipment in ready-made and proper position so as no complaints are received and the consumers are satisfied. The team also interacted with the consumer and informed about the recently launched consumer e-dakhil for consumer application and redressed thereof. 

Tana said that the petrol depot must keep Calibrated 5 litre Conical Capacity also 10l, 2l, 1l, 500ml, 200ml, 100ml, 50ml, 20ml in every Petroleum Depots so as to Counter check by the aggrieved Consumer.

Team of the Legal Metrology Officers advised all retailers to Use verified weights and measures in the trading premises and advised Traders to be consumers friendly by complying the Package Commodities (Rules) 2011 and the Legal Metrology Act 2009. 

Further the Asstt. Controller ( Enforcement) HQ has warned unscrupulous Traders be booked under relevant Acts & Rules as mentioned above in case of defaulter.

Such inspection and awareness programmes will be held in various parts of the state for mass awareness of the consumers.
