NAHARLAGUN, The legendary singer of Nyishi community Chera Tania passed away on Monday October 4 due to prolonged illness at TRIHMS. He was 64.
Late Chera Tania was a legendary singer of Nyishi community and have contributed fourteen nos of Nyishi songs and written more than ten Nyishi songs which were popular and have lots of meaning for the wellbeing of the community and society at large.
His one of the popular songs “ Ngag ajin sol hato” was loved by all and was very popular among the general masses. He has always advocated for the preservation of the aged old culture and tradition of the Nyishi community. During his life has been associated with several social welfare activities.
Several eminent personalities of state have condoled the demise of the legendary singer Chera Tania and prayed for eternal peace of departed Soul in heavenly abode.
Late Tania survived with two wives, two sons and four daughters.
