ITANAGAR, MAY 02: The International labour day has been celebrated across the state in low profile in view of Covid protocol and restriction of administration to be celebrated without huge gathering.
The joint celebration of International labour day was celebrated here in the state capital at Mopiin Solung ground, O Point Tinali on Saturday with several activities. The Minister of Labour and skill development and Industries Tumke Bagra and Arunachal Pradesh Building and other construction workers welfare board Chairman Nyato Dukam attended the main function as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Labour Minister Bagra in his address said that we are passing through a dangerous pandemic of Coronavirus and time is also testing us so it is necessary that everyone has to maintain the SoP and all the advisory and guidelines need to follow at any cost so that everyone remain secure from the clutch of the deadly virus.
Whatever the board is doing is in the interest and welfare of the workers community and every worker who so every may be either from organized or unorganized sector need to be registered to avail several benefits of the board. Bagra said.
Whatever issue remains and the memorandum submitted on the occasion will be given priority and would be considered after proper discussion with the Chairman and other stakeholders in a phased manner. Bagra added.
APB&OCWWB Chairman Dukam inform that several statutory and non statutory benefits has been enhanced keeping in view of the present context and the present government under the leadership of Pema Khandu has also concern for the welfare of the labour community and such several schemes which include death benefit, education assistance, medical treatment, scholarship and other schemes has been increased to many fold which would help and support the family members including health and education sector for the members of family including the wife and children’s. he ask the workers community to get registered and the board will support them in several way. Dukam said.
To get respect and regard one has to pay respect and regard to others but in case of the labour community we should carry forward our work and assign duty in a dignified way so that nobody can disrespect the workers community and the dignity of labour is not criticized. Dukam said.
The board will always look forward and try to resolve all the issues of the workers community from time to time and appeal the workers community to work with a responsibility and commitment. He further appealed to all sections of society to maintain SoP to remain safe and secure from Coronavirus.
All Arunachal Pradesh Labour Union President and Organising Chairman Dana Tadu informed that the programme was choked out much earlier. This year due to intervention of the labour board Chairman it was decided to celebrate the day untimely so in the capital complex this year the international labour day has been observed in only one place.
Even though we celebrated the day with very less presence of the workers because of the Covid pandemic and our undertaking with the administration to celebrate the day in low profile, our enthusiasm is very high and we as a workers community have also resolved to work untimely for the state development and progress. Tadu added.
JWCAPTU Secretary General Kenkar Yomcha, AAPEWU General Secretary Chera Tabi, AAPWU President Taku Tagu among others also spoke on the occasion.
A memorandum was also submitted on the occasion by AAPLU President Dan Tadu for implementation of employees state insurance scheme in Arunachal and Arunachal Pradesh unorganized social security board, reservation of 50 % seat in category of groups C & D in favour of contingency/casual workers, enhancement of wage @ 18000 per month and others.
Report of celebration of international labour day has arrived from Jairampur in Changlang district and Bhalukpong in West Kameng and other parts of state.
