IMC Corporator Tarh Achak appeals for obeying traffic rules

NAHARLAGUN, JULY 22 ; The Itanagar Municipal corporation (IMC) corporator Tarh Achak has appealed to all sections of society to obey traffic rules and give way to others for a comfortable ride on National highway and arterial roads of the capital complex.

Achak said that after the recent order of the capital administration with regards to the parking of vehicles within the white line jurisdiction on NH-415 in Itanagar it has been observed that the parking issue is little bit reduced and the commuters feel a little bit relaxed. He said.

In Naharlagun township the parking issue is also a menace on National highway right from C Sector to A Sector passing through Borpani and Super market area and it would only be resolved if the parking sense prevails among the vehicle owners and drivers and riders. We understand that there is scarcity of parking space but there is a need for more parking area in the township and we have been insisting the capital administration and highway administration for the same for quite some time and hope it would come up as proposals are being prepared. Achak said.

A very critical juncture in the township for the traffic jam is the road of G Extension market area from Power house colony always remains a matter of headache. We have worked out with the help of traffic Dy SP and capital administration and a notification has been issued that the two wheelers will be parked on one side while the four wheeler will be parked on the other side. Few traffic wardens have been deployed but at the same time few volunteers will also be deployed for the purpose as every day I received complaints regarding the abuse of the public by the commuters and it was felt necessary that the parking issue has to be resolved and we have started today. He said

We have informed all the shopkeepers and bank officials to inform their customers and visitors to park their vehicle in a systematic way or else legal action may be initiated and they have to pay a fine as per the traffic rule. Achak added.
