ITANAGAR, SEPT 5 : The heavy downpour in the wee hours on Monday has washed away the intake point and water supply pipelines of Sood village near Yupia and the local villagers have been badly affected. Said the villagers.
The PHED, Naharlagun sub-division Tamchi Syam inform that due to heavy mudslide and landslide triggered by heavy downpour in Sokun nallah has washed away the intake point area. Due to heavy landslides and mudslides the headwork site where the headwork cum intake chamber was existing has been washed away. More than 100 mtrs of 50 MM dia GI pipe also washed and submerged inside the mud which can’t be retrieved. Said Syam.
37 households and around 130 people have been badly affected. He added.
Man and technical will be deployed soon to assess the damage caused and restoration work would be taken up. AE Syam further said.
