Former education director Tapi Gao arrested for alleged illegal appointment

Nipjyoti Kalita || Itanagar, Feb 15: Tapi Gao, the former Director of Elementary Education, faces legal ramifications as the Special Investigation Cell (SIC) of Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended him for an alleged illegal appointment within the education department.

The Special Investigation Cell (VIG) has disclosed details surrounding the arrest of Tapi Gao, the former Director of Elementary Education in Itanagar. This action follows Case No. 04/2023, registered under sections 120(B), 420, and 409 of the IPC, read with Section 13(2) of the PC Act, 1988, pertaining to the alleged illegal appointment of Primary Teachers and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) in Anjaw District.

The investigation originated from a report by Inspector Techi Nega of SIC (Vig) on 29/08/2023, revealing that a parallel offense had occurred in Anjaw District during the scrutiny of another case (C/No. 02/2023) involving the illegal appointment of Primary Teachers (PRT) in Longding District.

After thorough interrogation and technical analysis, SIC (Vig) PS executed the arrest of Tapi Gao on 15/02/2024. Gao, 63 years old and formerly holding the position of Director of Elementary Education, is implicated in the case related to Anjaw District’s illegal teacher appointments. His details include being the son of the late Taku Gao, residing at VIII-Sile, PO/PS-Sile Oyan, District-East Siang (A.P).
