ITANAGAR, AUGUST 22 : Miscreants have stolen away a few GI pipelines from the site of under construction four lane road-NH-415 in Package-B in the Nirjuli area of the capital complex. The PHED deptt has lodged an FIR at Nirjuli police station.
PHED Assistant Engineer Tamchi Syam inform that as per information received from the Section officer, Nirjuli PHED Section Nangram Tamang that is very unfortunate incident has been reported and the miscreants has stolen away GI pipes of 150 mm and 100 mm dia which were kept at roadside site for restoration of water supply pipelines under four lane road construction project. The supply line is the main supply pipe line of Nirjuli township coming from Kankarnallah to the Urban housing complex, Nirjuli. Syam said.
The Nirjuli Section officer Nangram Tamang has lodged an FIR with Nirjuli police station. AE Syam said.
There is a need for a change of mindset among the people and they should think twice before stealing and damaging the public property which has been utilized for thousands of people for a long time. AE observed.
Nirjuli police station officer Surender Singh inform that a FIR has been received from officer of PHED and a case has been registered vide-89/22 u/s-379/400 11 IPC and as of now one Tata Mobile with a driver has been detained and further investigation is on to ascertain involvement of more people in the case and necessary legal action will be initiated against all those who try to damage and destroy the public property, the police officers said.
