Education Tour Raises Awareness on Critical Issues for Students in Kamle District

In a continued effort to empower students with crucial knowledge, an education tour cum awareness event was successfully conducted on August 25th, 2023, at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Boasimla. The event centered around addressing the pressing topics of anti-drug awareness, misuse of mass media, and the disadvantages of early marriage.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including the chief guest Rakhe Taro, ZPM Kamporijo-1, and Bar Sumpi, ZPM Kamporijo-2. Also in attendance was special invitee Er Tadam Ligu, Secretary incharge of NES Kamle District Central Executive member, Dr Kapu Sopin, Chairman of NES Kamle District unit, Principal GHSS Boasimla Tage Gambo, Tao Papu, HOD Daporijo, Boni Taluk, DPO NVBDCP Kamle District, and various other dignitaries.

With more than 200 students benefiting from the awareness session, resource persons Takhe Riniyo and Taku Natung Nabam played pivotal roles in shedding light on the topics. Takhe Riniyo focused on the adverse effects of drugs, emphasizing the need to stay away from them. Meanwhile, Taku Natung Nabam delved into the misuse of mass media and the disadvantages associated with early marriage.

The education tour and awareness initiative are part of the NES Kamle District Unit’s strategy to identify the root causes behind poor CBSE results in the Kamle District. The tour aims to establish correlations between the discussed topics and their impact on students, leading to subpar academic outcomes and compromised health.

Looking ahead, the initiative will continue its journey with upcoming events planned. On August 28th, the focus will shift to Government Higher Secondary School Raga, followed by GHSS Muri Mugli on September 1st. The final day of the education tour cum awareness program will culminate in a career guidance kick-off event at GHSS Ligu on September 2nd, 2023. The conclusive event will be inaugurated by Heri Maring, General Secretary of NES, providing students with valuable insights to shape their future paths.
