ITANAGAR, 21 Mar: A book titled “wings of our heritage” authored by Dr Yogendra Pal Kohli was released here at Heema hospital on Monday by Dr. Joram Anya Tana, associate professor Hindi, Dera Natung Government College in the presence of Dr Hage Ambing, director of medical education, Dr. Byabang Rana CMD Heema hospital, Tassar Talar Director Geology & Mining, Millo Pusang, joint director planning department and members of ABVP.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Joram Anya Tana said it is an honour to release his book in the presence of many of his former students. It is a happy moment for a teacher by its students.
Recalling the impact of Dr Yogendra Pal Kohli in his personal life, Hage Ambing, director of medical education termed him as a great teacher. “He worked for many years in the state and has been an influence on all of his students including me. Dr Kohli was a guide, teacher, and philosopher to us. He had worked for the betterment of Arunachal and his works need to be appreciated,” said Dr Ambing.
The CMD of Heema hospital Dr. Byabang Rana, who is also a former student of Dr Yogendra Pal Kohli said it is a matter of privilege for the former students to release his book. “He has shaped the lives of many of us. His works will now be known across the country through these books. He worked more than 30 years in the state,” said Dr Rana. Dr Yogendra Pal Kohli served in Arunachal Pradesh as a teacher, scoutmaster, Airwing NCC officer in charge, associate professor in Chemistry, Scientist and was also associated with VKV and Arunachal Vikash Parishad. Earlier he has published two books namely Dolo Mando and Abo-Loma, 167 articles/papers on the culture, science, heritage of the tribes from 1971-2001 too.
Even though he could not personally attend the programme, through a video message Dr Kolhi recalled his association with Arunachal Pradesh. “ I am very glad to see my students occupying important positions in the present-day Arunachal. I hope they will continue to serve the people of the state with utmost sincerity. Arunachal and its people have been very kind to me and I still treasure the time spent in the state,” said Dr Yogendra Pal Kohli.
The book “ Wings of our heritage” (Traditional insight for a comprehensive vision : development} by Dr. Yogendra Pal Kohli has been published with a concrete agenda for the future by reconciliation of our traditional wisdom with recent advances in science and technology. The books would be available in leading books shops of the capital complex and other parts of the state.
