ITANAGAR, 04 May: The Capital Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom has warned that if the number of Covid 19 cases continues to rise in Itanagar capital region (ICR) and the denizens continue to defy the Covid SoP and do not try to understand the Covid behaviors then there would be no option but to extend the night curfew timing much before the existing 9 PM and even can imposed lockdown.
Potom said that there are several SoP of the Covid which need to be maintained for the safety and wellbeing of the denizens for good health but it has been observed that several cases of violation is been done by the people during the night curfew is not a good trend. We don’t wasn’t to use force but the frontline workers which include the police, medical and other advice, suggestions and guidelines are not properly obeyed by the masses. However most of the people are keeping them indoors and maintaining the SoP but few of them are violating the SoP and creating unnecessary problems. After the night curfew imposed from May 1 is not giving the satisfied result and the figure is quite rising everyday is a dangerous trend which has to stop and is only possible if all sections of society join hands in fight against the Covid pandemic. Potom said.
“The citizens are still not following the Covid19 SOPs. This business as usual attitude is very risky. We need to learn from what is happening in other parts of the state and country. This second wave is very dangerous.
I have discussions with all the line departments of management and the capital administration may review the night curfew from 6 PM instead of existing 9 PM. He said.
