Coordination Meeting Addresses Critical Issues in Yingkiong and Upper Siang District

Yingkiong, Oct 11 – The District Administration of Upper Siang, led by Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang, organized a crucial coordination meeting at the Multipurpose Hall in Yingkiong today, on October 11, 2023. The meeting aimed to address and resolve various pressing issues affecting Upper Siang.

Notable attendees included SP T. Saring, ABK President Tadum Libang, ZPC Lumgeng Litin, heads of various government departments, members of the Yingkiong Market Welfare Committee, APWWS, NGOs, and the local public.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang emphasized the primary goal of bringing together all stakeholders to find effective solutions to the challenges facing Upper Siang. He expressed satisfaction that the meeting yielded positive outcomes and assured that the ideas and suggestions presented by both officials and the public would be considered for the betterment of Upper Siang and Yingkiong township.

The discussions covered a wide range of issues, including access to civic amenities like electricity, water supply, road infrastructure, public health and hygiene, cleanliness, combating drug-related problems, and enhancing security. Heads of various government departments, such as the Executive Engineer of Yingkiong Electrical Division, PWD, PHE & WS, UD & H, and Hydropower, highlighted their respective department’s activities and emphasized the importance of coordination between departments and the cooperation of the public to facilitate the smooth execution of developmental projects related to electricity, water supply, roads, and cleanliness drives.

ABK President Tadum Libang and ZPC Lumgeng Litin also shared their insights during the meeting. Senior women social workers and former members of APWWS Yingkiong, including Oma Tamuk Pertin, Nutek Jongkey, and Mekem Nopi, emphasized the urgency of resolving issues such as power supply, water supply, education, and cleanliness. They requested the Deputy Commissioner to issue strict directives to maintain the cleanliness and environmental sustainability of Yingkiong township and pledged their wholehearted support to the District Administration for its successful implementation.
