Bodies of 3 washed away in Kurung Kumey retrieved 

ITANAGAR, Apr 19: The bodies of all the three persons, who were washed away by flood waters of river Fugi, have been retrieved and the injured person is stated to be in fine condition, said Kurung Kumey Deputy Commissioner Bengia Nicchee.

“As of now, all the three bodies have been retrieved and identified, and the legal and other formalities are to be done. However, the post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow. After conducting the postmortem, the body will be handed over to the family members and the relatives for last rites,” Deputy Commissioner Nicchee said.

The Deputy Commissioner further said reports to these effects will be sent to the government for providing relief and ex-gratia to the diseased.

He said the massive flood and the landslide damaged several dwelling houses and many roads have been blocked due to landslides. The road leading towards Kra Daadi district has also been blocked. “The restoration works are going on,” the DC informed.

Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner at Koloriang said the district administration is monitoring the situation and urged the people to remain alert as the monsoon has already hit the area.
