Dharmendra appointed as new Chief Secretary of Arunachal

NAHARLAGUN, Apr 19: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in an order on Tuesday appointed IAS officer Dharmendra as the new Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh.

He will replace Naresh Kumar, who has been transferred and posted as the Chief Secretary of the Government of NCT of Delhi with effect from April 21, 2022.

Dharmendra is a 1989 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre.

Before his new assignment, Dharmendra was serving as the Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

Naresh Kumar, who is a 1987 batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, served as the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh since August 2019.

The order has been issued with the approval of competent authority and the transfer/postings of the IAS officers of Joint AGMUT Cadre are ordered with immediate effect and until further orders.

Meanwhile, Rajeev Verma, a 1992 batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, who was serving as the Principal Secretary to Home, Arunachal Pradesh, has been transferred and posted as the new Chief Secretary of Puducherry.
