BMS staged protest, demanding re-implementation of Old pension scheme replacing the new pension scheme

ITANAGAR, NOV 22 :  The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh  (BMS) state unit stated protest and dharna in city demanding scraping of new pension scheme (NPS) and restoration of old pension scheme (OPS) in the greater interest of the government servants of state and country.

The state unit BMS President Ringu Chapo inform the media that  “ we are not demanding any new thing but what was already there need to be restored or reintroduced and it is in the greater interest of the government servants who have lots of hope and expectation that after retirement there may be some help.  There has been lots of protest across the state and country and the BMS will not keep silence now onward and this issue will raised time and again and our democratic movement will continue. He said.

Today leaders has carried out protest at New Delhi and similarly we are also protesting here in state, the demand of restoration of OPS is very genuine and the OPS need to be restored and the BMS will keep on raising the issue and our democratic movement will also continue and we will keep on raising the issue as the central government should ensure the welfare measures for its servants. He said.

We have approached our Chief Minister and have discussed the issue and hope that our state government may also see the genuine demand and take measured in the greater interest of the government servants. Some state having their own finance commission has implemented the OPS and in case of our state government may also see and take a decision. He said.

Our main motto is to take care of the workers community and the BMS shall always raise voice and work of the welfare of government employees and their family who are totally dependent on the government employee who are the earner for the family. The government employees across the country are crying for the old pension scheme as better and benefiting the employees even after the retirement from the service in monthly GPF benefits. He said.

A single point memorandum address to Prime minister of India demanding national pension scheme (NPS) and re-implementation of old pension scheme (OPS) has been send and a copy has been send to Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister land management, Chief secretary, Secretary labour, commissioner Labour & Employment, BMS leaders across the country including media. He added.
