BMS handed over memorandum with 9 point charter of demand to Advisor to CM

ITANAGAR, APRIL 16 : The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) On Saturday held its state executive body meeting at its head office at Bank Tinali and discussed various issues pertaining to the organisation and labour/workers related issues of state. The organisation send a 9 point charter of demand to the Chief Minister on the occasion.

All the state executive body members including the President and general secretary of the district unit take part in day long deliberation. The district unit and state executive body members raised various issues of the workers community and sought for unity among various organizations working for the welfare of the workers/labour community.

Addressing the executive body meeting, Advisor to Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Tai Tagak said that “ we need to discover ourselves and find out the problems and its resolution, out first and foremost duty is to carry out works sincerely with utmost dedication so that whatever you are doing is being done is in the greater interest of workers community and general people”. The majdoor who is a worker should first know that he is doing the work for the society and in the interest of the nation but at the same time our respiration should be regional. We should not go for certificate education but we should turn to skill education, cultural education and sincere education and working style education should be significant and production is for utility. He said.

“Whatever we are doing are in the greater interest for the all round development and future of our state and country and our younger generation, we should ensure that our childrens who are our future should also get a proper education and skill. He said

Referring to the 9 point memorandum submitted on the occasion. Tagak said that he will send it to the highest authority and accordingly apprise the Chief Minister on the issue. Soon he would try to fix a meeting of the executive body with the Chief Minister for a better discussion of the issue rasied on the occasion and also submitted in the memorandum. Tagak said.

It has been observed that several organizations use to submit memorandum with dozens of charter of demand and points but they should understand that government is for the people and by the people so the government can take up the genuine and important issue and demand of the organisation which are useful and welfare for large numbers of people and maximum area. He said.

We should also know to give back to society, state and country and become part of country development and we need to know the financial education by which we can support, help and cooperate the administration, state, country grow and people progress and developed nation and termed the workers community as nation builders and appeal them to remain a good nation builder and should always know our future so whatever we are doing need to carried keeping the our future and society peace, progress and development. Tagak added.

Guest of honour, APB&OCWWB OSD Tadung Regia said that the labour and workers are the main force behind the nation building and the APB & OCWWB is supporting the workers community with several welfare measures and kits and essential items to the working community from time to time. Several beneficiaries are there which are beneficial for the workers community and their spouses and children.  

Time and again the central government and state government flagged ship schemes are also supporting and helping the workers community of several organised and unorganized sectors of state and thousands have been befitted. 

We will also look forward that the registered workers  under the board get the benefit of the schemes and almost all the workers community are registered so that they are able to avail the benefit. 

Regia further urged upon the workers organisation and their leaders to help and guide their workers community to help them to avail the benefit of several state and central sponsored schemes from time to time. 

BMS state President Tadang Yangfo said that due to Covid-19 pandemic the state executive body meeting could not be held previously. Several issues pertaining to the workers community were pending for discussion. Almost all the district unit president and general secretary are taking part in the inaugural session and will also take part in the technical session. He said.

Several grievances which are pending need to be addressed by the working department and state government. Which include E Sram card, social security, pradhan mantri shram yogi mann-dhan yojna etc. he said.

The memorandum has been submitted to the Chief guest Tai Tagak who is the advisor of the CM who has been requested to pursue a meeting with the CM and discuss a resolution. Yangfo added. 

A 9 point charter of demand of our organisation has been submitted for consideration of state government, the charter of demand which include enhancement of minimum wages @ 18000 per month, one time implementation of regulation in favour of engaging contractual service and contingency/casual workers who are service above 20 years, implementation of same grade pay to same work charge staffs under government establishment, monthly payment of Anganwadi workers, helpers and ASHA workers and its honorarium, regularisation of Anganwadi workers & helpers and ASHs workers on seniority basis in vacant post in respective department, regularisation of employees either enhancement of salary equivalent to regular staff under ministerial cadre, implementation of pension scheme for the casual and contractual workers, timely conduction of DPC and compulsory induction of trade union leaders to maintain transparency.
