Bamang Mangha flagged off measurement vehicle “LiDAR survey and building 3D City Geo-Spatial survey”

ITANAGAR, SEPTEMBER 7 : The Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology.(APSCS&T) Bamang Mangha on Wednesday has flagged off the measurement vehicle fitted with all sophisticated gazettes and technology of State Remote Sensing Application Centre, Itanagar.

The vehicle has been flagged off under the project “LiDAR survey and building 3D City Geo-Spatial assets for Itanagar. Capital Region under Arunachal Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (APSSDI)” under National Spatial Data Infrastructure, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Bamanag Mangha said that today’s event is a historic phase in the chapter of State Remote Sensing Application Centre for using LiDAR technology for building 3D Geo-spatial Datasets for 3D Virtual City modelling of entire Itanagar Capital Complex. He said, the final deliverables shall be immensely useful to entire state department as any type of planning model and developmental activities can be done by using this dataset for Capital Complex. Said Mangha.

The vehicle will be utilized for collecting all types of date which would be utilized by several departments in planning and development process of capital city. This would be a pilot project for state and once it is implemented smoothly and successfully we may proposed for other parts of state and whole of state for all round development including research purposed for the scientist of the department and improving of planning process. He informed that Arunachal Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (APSSDI) is funded under NSDI by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. The main objective of the project is to develop a platform all the spatial and non-spatial dataset and to build 3D asset model in 10 cm resolution with very high accuracy. The data shall be collected through Aerial LiDAR and Mobile LiDAR Survey. This data shall be useful for all aspects of work for various types of work like road development, communication line development, pipeline, drainage mapping, electricity line, urban and town planning, traffic management, etc.

The flagged off ceremony was held at AP Civil secretariat was attended by  science & Technology Director C.D. Mungyak,. SRSAC Joint Director  L. Tajo, APSCS&T Deputy Director Nyelam Tath, SRSAC Deputy Director Chauken Manlong, Officers and Officials from SRSAC and S&T and the project consultant Nektor Engineers and Project Consultant, Ahmedabad and Emergent Technologies, Itanagar were present on the occasion.
