NAHARLAGUN, The Legendary singer of state Bamang Loram on Thursday inaugurated camp office cum information centre of Kurung Kumey district traditional and cultural society (KKDTCS) at Papunallah to facilitate the artist community of the district in the capital complex in presence several eminent personality.
Addressing the opening ceremony the KKDTCS Chairman Bamang Loram said that the main motive is to work and dedicate the community specially the executive members of the organisation for promotion and preservation of the vanishing local dialects and languages of the tribal community and tribes in particular and state as a whole.
The office would work and help the artist community to work for the preparation of books and literature of music, traditional culture and songs of the ethnic people through oral,visuals and literature form. Loram said.
Due to the emergence of outside culture the tradition and culture and local dialects and language is in danger and some languages are at the verge of extinction and now the responsibility lies with the indigenious people of state to work for preservation of aged old cultural heritage, language and ethos of the tribes society of state. He said.
Loram emphasizes that our children are taught in the local dialect in schools and the parents also speak in their own local dialect and motivates them to promote and preserve our own tradition and culture. He also requested the state government to provide teachers to teach students in local dialect right from nursery stage.
