ASU declares Ziro bandh on Sept 9

NAHARLAGUN, Sep 01: The Apatani Students’ Union (ASU) today declared its first phase of bandh call in Ziro under Lower Subansiri district to be effective on September 9, 2022 for “non-fulfilment” of its demands of their last representation submitted to the Superintendent of Police, Ziro.

The ASU in a press communiqué said they have “given enough time” to the Superintendent of Police, Ziro to unearth the truth and take necessary action in connection with Yachuli PS case no 10/2022 U/S 447/506/353/427/186 ICR/W Section 3(1) PDPP, ACT1984.

It expressed its dissatisfaction at the alleged delay in the case and the “lackadaisical attitude” of the SP, Ziro towards the representation submitted by them.

They demanded settlement of the Yachuli PS case filed against Koj Nichi, general secretary, APSU and two others claiming that all the allegations levelled against them are “false and fabricated”.

They have also sought action against SI Tanya Uli, OC, Yachuli PS and HC Toko Tapa and constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth the truth.
