Changlang, 25th June 2023 – Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Head Hunter Bikers and Civil authorities, organized a bike rally and pledge taking ceremony on the occasion of the International Day of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event aimed to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and illicit trafficking, emphasizing the importance of a drug-free and healthy lifestyle.
The bike rally, held under the theme of “Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking,” witnessed a total of 180 participants, including 30 bikers, 40 Self Help Groups, 20 de-addicts, 15 members from the Market Committee, 20 representatives from Clan Based Organizations, and 85 students from the Government Higher Secondary School in Changlang, along with troops from Assam Rifles.
The participants gathered to take a solemn pledge against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, emphasizing their commitment to a society free from the clutches of these destructive practices. By coming together, they aimed to combat the pervasive threat posed by drugs to the health, safety, and overall well-being of individuals and the community as a whole.
Following the rally and pledge taking ceremony, Assam Rifles hosted a lunch for all the participants, fostering camaraderie and providing an opportunity for the attendees to connect and share their experiences. The event served as a reminder of the collective responsibility in addressing the issue of drug abuse and the importance of collaborative efforts to build a healthier and drug-free society.
