Arunachal Pradesh mourns the Loss of esteemed MLA Phosum Khimhun

Itanagar, March 10: The Arunachal Pradesh Government declared a one-day state mourning on Monday, March 11, in honor of the untimely demise of sitting MLA Phosum Khimhun from the Changlang South constituency. The respected legislator, who also served as an Advisor to the Minister of Public Works Department (PWD) for Central Zone-B, Eastern Zone, and Highways, passed away on Saturday in Itanagar at the age of 63 due to a sudden heart attack.

An official communiqué released on Sunday stated, “In light of the sudden demise of Phosum Khimhun, MLA cum Advisor to (PWD) Minister, Arunachal Pradesh, it has been decided to observe one day state mourning on March 11 (Monday) as a mark of respect to the departed soul.”

During the state mourning, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across Arunachal Pradesh, including state government offices, and there will be no official entertainment. The State Government has additionally approved the closure of offices, institutions, and market establishments for one day on Monday in Changlang district.

Furthermore, the Changlang district administration has been directed by the State Government to present a state ceremonial guard of honour during the funeral procession, paying tribute to the five-time lawmaker’s significant contributions.
