APUWJ condoled demise of AE correspondent Christina Darang

ITANAGAR, Jan 06: The Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) expressed deep shock and sorrow over the untimely demise of Christina Darang, who worked as a correspondent for Arunachal Express (AE).

Christina Darang (22) passed away after she met with a fatal road accident at Dura, Pasighat near here on Friday.

According to reports, Darang was on her way to attend the church’s youth picnic with her friends when the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident. She was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, and later to Dibrugarh but couldn’t be saved.

She was born on December 24, 2000, and is the daughter of Soitoram Darang and Elly Ratan Darang.  She is a graduate in Economics (Hons) from Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat, and was pursuing her Master’s degree in Sociology at IGNOU.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Express CEO, Jun Taki said in a condolence message stated that “She (Darang) had been an exceptional and valued member of Arunachal Express since joining our organization last month.  With her untimely demise, Arunachal Express has not only lost a dedicated, charming, and hardworking colleague, but I especially have lost a sister who had a bright future.  My prayers are with the family members.”

Two minutes of silence was also observed at AE head office and prayers were offered for peace to the departed soul and strength and power to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
