APPSC paper leak: State’s 6 arrested police officers terminated from service

ITANAGAR, Mar 14: The State government has ordered termination of six police officers from their service in connection with the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) question paper leak case.

They were appointed as Sub-Inspectors (SIs) in 2022 and were on a probation period for two years. 

The six police officers, who were undergoing training at the Police Basic Training at NEPA, Shillong in Meghalaya, were earlier put under suspension by the government after their arrest.

The terminated police officers are Jembang Darang, 29 years, son of Okat Darang of Miram village under Ruksin police station in East Siang district,  Kangkeng Garu, 28 years, son of Mame Garu of Payum village under Kaying PS in Siang district, Yon Talom, 27 years, son of Lt. Tarak Talom of Miram village under Ruksin police station in East Siang district, Kali Yomcha, 28 years, son of Jarki Yomcha of Lipu Yomcha village under Yomcha police station in West Siang district, Pakjum Gamlin, 26 years, son of Lukpak Gamlin of Hikar Gumin village under Aalo police station in West Siang district and Kaling Jerang, 28 years, son of Taku Jerang of Riga village under Boleng police station in Siang district.Earlier, the probationers were arrested in connection with SIC/Vig/PS/Case No.12/2022 U/S 120 (B)406/409/420 IPC R/W Sec.7/8/13(2) P.C. Act 1988.
