APPDBSU appealed to the state govt for immediate functioning of Kakoi police check gate and outpost posting of regular CO

ITANAGAR, AUGUST 25 : The All Papum Pare District Border Students’ Union (APPDBSU) has sought immediate functioning of Kakoi police outpost and police check gate properly with sufficed manpower and posting of regular circle officer at Kakoi administrative circle of Papum pare district.

APPDBSU in a press conference here at Arunachal Press club (APC) has informed that they have submitted a three-point memorandum to the chief minister, Home & Border Affairs Minister and Chief Secretary respectively citing several problems related to boundary disputes from Assam side and several atrocities being meted by the Assam movement officers led by security forces, Assam forest officers, officials in the name of eviction and reserve forest and other issue.

APPDBSU, General Secretary Tarh Tagung informed that we have submitted a three point memorandum demanding functionalizing the Kakoi police outpost, posting of a regular circle officer in Kakoi administrative circle, and construction of an interstate welcome gate and a police check gate in Kakoi.

The Kakoi police outpost has been completed several years back and still lying unused and non-functional since its establishment in 2016, if any incident is reported the police from Kimin PS has to reached all the time which is around 20 KM and get delayed to attend the problems specially the boundary disputed activities an illegal eviction drive which are being carried by the Assam forest official with others. He said.

“Not a single policeman has been properly posted since five years of its establishment and we too did not find any police personnel during our visit in the area recently,” he said, The police outpost not functioning is also a problems and the police outpost need to be function immediately and the state government including the Home Minister may look into the matter on priority basis. He said.

During the eviction drive by the Assam Police and Assam forest officials and even they have encroached on the area and demolished properties of the local people many a time and for which there should be a security form our Arunachal side for the safety, security of people and protection of state territory. He said.

The Kakoi circle has been created several years but for last few years there is no regular Circle officer and due to which the locality has to face lots of problems even for small official works and they have to go to Kimin ADC office for the purpose is a matter of great concern and so a regular administrative officer has to be posted Kakoi be a boundary disputed and sensitive area. He said.

With regards to the police check gate in Kakoi, Tagung said that the check gate would not only reduce antisocial activities in the area but also serve as a permanent demarcation of land between the two states as there is infrastructure already been created by the Assam side.

He urged Home Ministry senior officers and officials to visit the interstate boundary disputed area and meet the family members who have died due to any reason or naturally and try to understand the pain and agony being faced by the local Arunachalee.

Further the union has demanded separate border Affairs deptt with sufficient officers and officials immediately.
