APCC enrolls 75k new members in digital drive

ITANAGAR, Apr 16: The membership drive of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) fell short of around 75,000 of the 1 lakh membership goal.

Submitting list of membership drive which commenced from November 2021 to 15 April  2022, to All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) PRO to Arunachal Pradesh, Gopal Ch. Roy, president Nabam Tuki here on Saturday at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan said, “Our target was to achieve 1 lakhs membership representing various districts of the state but the same could not be achieved,”.

He was confident that the number of members will grow as the report from various districts is still awaited.

Appreciating the people of the state for registering themselves during 6 month’s membership drive despite hurdles and Covid- 19 protocol, Roy said, the membership for the party is a continuous process, though digital registration is closed but it’s still going on a slip basis.

Stating the schedule for the election of the party would be decided by the Central Election Authority, he appealed to the existing members to work dedicatedly for smooth conduct of its organisational elections next year.
