A Students of NERIST, Nirjuli went missing, capital police constituted team to locate the missing students

ITANAGAR, May 25: One student of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) went missing on Wednesday morning. Informed Capital Police ASP T Jamba.

Capital police has constituted a team of police under the guidance of Officer Incharge (OC) Nirjuli for search & rescue operation of missing students after registering a case at Nrjuli police station vide case MPR no-5/23. Said ASP.

Identified as Aniket Dutta Gupta (19) a student of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) 2022-2026 batch went missing since 24 May last. Gupta was from Gupta Kutir, Topla Basti, Tinsukia district. Assam. He said. 

A missing complaint was received at around 12:00 noon on Wednesday, ASP said the police team constitute for the said purpose are intensively carrying out a search & rescue operation to locate the whereabouts of the missing students. As of now no major breakthrough has been made. He said. 

“Student had with his belonging (Laptop) from the NERIST’s campus as per information,” said Jamba.

The mobile phone of the student was found to be switched off, he informed that with the help of technology, surveillance of mobile phones is being carried out. We are in touch with the parents of the missing students. A case has been registered at Nirjuli police station vide case no-

As there was a report that on 24 May Rs. 5000 were withdrawn from his account, Jamba said the bank statement of the missing person will be taken into account for investigation.
