Arunachal to Host 5th Junior Boy’s National Boxing Championship 2023

ITANAGAR, Jun 08: Arunachal Pradesh is set to host the prestigious 5th Junior Boy’s National Boxing Championship 2023 from 9th to 14th July at Don Bosco College in Itanagar. The event, organized by the Arunachal Amateur Boxing Association (AABA) in collaboration with the Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA), is expected to attract more than 500 delegates from across the country.

Expressing gratitude to the state government for their support, Secretary General of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI), Hemanta Kumar Kalita, announced that the winner of the championship would secure a spot on the Indian boxing team. The ultimate winner of the under 16 championship will also have the opportunity to represent the country at the international level.

Kalita further revealed that the objective of the BFI is to identify and nurture talented young boxers from different states of the country. A maximum of 13 boxers from each state will compete in the tournament, categorized by weight ranging from 44 kg to 80 kg.

Welcoming the BFI to Arunachal Pradesh, Secretary General of the AOA, Bamang Tago, announced that the recently concluded Sansad Khel’s winners from various districts of the state will participate in the championship. To ensure active participation, the winners of the Sansad Khel have already undergone training camps in preparation for the event.

The 5th Junior Boy’s National Boxing Championship 2023 promises to be an exciting platform for young boxers to showcase their skills and pave their way to national and international success.
