4 die, 5 injured in Kamle road mishap

RAGA, Jun 10: Four people lost their lives and five others sustained injuries after a passenger Sumo skidded off the Godak-Raga road in Kamle district and fell into a gorge.

The road mishap took place between the towns of Godak and Raga in the Kamle district while the vehicle was en route from Daporijo to Itanagar, informed Inspector Gocham Tasa, Officer-in-Charge of Raga Police Station.

Kamle Superintendent of Police Taru Gusar confirmed that the incident took place between 8 am and 8:35 am today. The Sumo driver also suffered severe injuries during the unfortunate incident. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the road mishap.

Efforts to rescue and evacuate the victims were swiftly initiated by a collaborative response involving the police force, medical teams, local villagers, and the general public.

Raga Hospital, located nearby, is currently providing medical care and treatment to the injured people. The medical team is working tirelessly to stabilise their conditions and provide them with the necessary support.

The identities of the deceased were not ascertained till the filing of the report. The injured victims are receiving immediate medical attention, and their conditions are being closely monitored, sources said.
