ITANAGAR, APRIL 18: In a tragic incident caused by a massive landslide triggered by heavy downpour has reportedly washed away three members of a family, 1 person has been injured while 15 dwellings have been severely damaged in the incident.
As per report received from Kurung Kumey district due to heavy rainfall landslides have taken place in several parts of the district which led to road blockage in various circle headquarter and others area and also leading to international border, as per information the district headquarter ‘ Koloriang’ has been disconnected from the nearest district of Kra Daadi and rest of country. The water supply as well as power supply has also been badly affected. The report said.
ADC, Koloriang Occean Gao inform that “ due to torrential rainfall since the last three days 15 houses have been damaged by the flash flood in Koloriang district headquarter of Kurung Kumey district”. “ Drinking water and power supply has been disturbed and roads blocked at various locations and cut off from other district:. He said.
Three lives have been washed away in Fugi river of Solung Taping village in Upper Koloriang area under Koloriang circle. Three members of a family has been washed away namely Sariu Tongdang aged 52 years, Sariu Yajik aged 47 years and Sariu Takar aged 9 years. Search operation has been conducted by the locals with coordination of administration and police but could not find. One person narrowly escaped and received injury. Said ADC.
Many more damages have also been reported from various administrative circles of the district. He said.
Due to massive landslides in the district the road leading to Sangram leading toward Kra Daadi district, to Sarli, to Damin and Parsiparlo is blocked. ADC Gao added.
Information has been passed to higher authority and district administration is trying its best effort to provide support in the time of disaster. ADC further said.
Meanwhile, Koloriang ZPM Bengia Tashi carried out inspections in various parts of Koloriang township and interacted with the locals and assured support. The ZPM has appealed to the district administration and state government to provide immediate rescue operation relief and rehabilitation and support to the affected family and road restoration.
