24th Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebrated in Tawang with Patriotic Fervor and Tribute to Bravehearts

The 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism at the General Parade Ground in Tawang today. The event brought together the people of Tawang and the Indian Army to pay tribute to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War.

The celebrations saw active participation from various segments of society, including students from different schools in the township, army jawans, monks from the revered Tawang Monastery, and the general public.

Colonel JS Dodhy, the Deputy Commander of Tawang brigade, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In his address to the gathering, Colonel Dodhy expressed profound gratitude to all the valiant soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty during the Kargil War. He took the opportunity to inspire the youth to consider joining the Indian Army and serve the nation with pride and dedication.

The ceremony began with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of the 2nd Arunachal Pradesh Battalion presenting a guard of honor to the Chief Guest, followed by captivating cultural programs and an impressive military band display by students and jawans.

To foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Indian Army, the attendees were shown various arms and equipment used by the armed forces through an engaging weapon display. Moreover, the soldiers provided valuable information on how to join the Indian Army and details about the admission procedures for Sainik schools, aiming to inspire more young individuals to consider a career in the armed forces.

In a touching gesture, the monks from Tawang Monastery felicitated the Chief Guest and other army officers, expressing their profound gratitude for the selfless service provided by the Indian Army.

Colonel JS Dodhy later extended his felicitations to the participants of the cultural program and the NCC cadets, appreciating their contributions to making the celebration a grand success.
