12 Bn NDRF starts training new rescuers

NAHARLAGUN, Jun 08: Ahead of the monsoon, the 12 Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has started its preparedness to deal with the disasters, said Sub-Inspector Kunwar Pal Singh.

The 12 Bn NDRF has started the preparations under the guidance and direction of Pankaj Kavidayal, Commandant, 12 Bn NDRF, said an NDRF press communiqué.

The 12 Bn NDRF has started a training programme at Doimukh Fisheries and Pare Dam with the newly arrived rescuers as part of the preparations for the disasters faced by the people during monsoon.

The training programme has been run vigorously, the press communiqué stated.

“In this sequence, 80 new trainees are being trained in swimming and boat handling,” it said.

Among the 80 trainees there are 6 women rescuers.

The trainees have also been trained in Medical First Responder (MFR) & Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) and rope rescue operation.
