ITANAGAR, JUNE 14 ; The Main water supply pipeline coming from Poma area to the city has been badly damaged due to flash flood and landslide between Ganga lake and Zoo. Informed Itanagar PHED Division Executive Engineer Tadar Mangku.
Er Mangku informed that the main water supply pipeline measuring 400 mm and 200 mm dia pipelines has been badly damaged due to flash flood and landslide triggered due to heavy downpour last night. Due to damaged of main pipeline the water supply to the city has been affected and the city dweller may have to suffer scarcity for few days until it is fully restored. All man and machine has been deployed with technical with supervisors and side engineers. I am also camping at the site to ensure the restoration works completed smoothly. Said Er. Mangku.
Through restoration works is on war footing and work in progress which may take a day or two and till such time the consumers ay not get water supply. He said.
Mangku appeal the consumers of Itanagar city to bear with inconvenience caused due to damaged of both water supply line coming from poma village area.
He also appeal the consumers to tap the rainwater which is also safe for all-purpose
