ITANAGAR, JULY 3 : The Capital Complex Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom has informed that the verification of land of private individuals and organisations has begun in the capital region today from Itanagar and Naharlagun simultaneously.

Briefing the media person at DC Office here at Chandanagar today, DC Talo Potom informed that since my joining as capital DC I have been planning that there are thousands of files of land of private and organization lying pending in DC office in various branches and tables for several years. The issue were discussed by officials and officers and a committee was constituted and I am to verify in various parts of Itanagar while ADC will carry out visit in Naharlagun township with line deptt and subordinated officer of land branches and will submit report and those which are not at all feasible need to be rejected on the spot and those found feasible has to be recommended for further perusal and necessary action. Potom said.

As of now there are around 4000 files in the Capital DC Office and all has been enlisted in serial wise. Today was the first day of verification. The Naharlagun team visited in and around Papunallah while the Itanagar team visited in and around the Chimpu area. The Itanagar team has covered around 25 sites and few cases have been rejected while few have been referred for obtaining NOC from forest department and other departments. He said.

During the visit it has been found that even if some of them have proper land allotment and LPC but it has also observed there are also those who have never applied for allotment in office, few of them who have applied for land allotment but the documents are not available in the offices are direct to apply for land allotment and LPC so that their cases are also inspected in accordance to the system or their cases are attended by the officials in the offices for further inspection.

We will try our best to attend the cases on Saturday being a holiday but our offices will continue to work on site so that some of the cases are taken up for inspection and the burden is reduced. He said.

If the person who has not applied yet their figure may rise from five thousand to Ten thousand and even more so it is requested that all those who have never applied for land allotment or LPC need to apply within three month so that further necessary action is also taken up. DC added.

Potom further appeals to all section of society not to encroach upon the land of school because we will not tolerate the attempt as school are on priority of the capital administration and most of the schools out of total 72 schools in Itanagar capital complex has already been inspected while rest will be inspected within few days.
