Two persons abducted from Longding district have been rescued

Itanagar: Two persons abducted by the militants in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district on the last day of January have been rescued by the police.

As per sources, “both the persons identified as Hiren Koch and Ramashish Mahato have been rescued by Longding Police. Sources have also stated that both the persons are in good health and have undergone medical checkups”. Informed Longding SP. 

He was rescued from international border areas bordering Myanmar. The Longding police has achieved success in recovery of the two abductees of the recent Pumao kidnapping case.

Hiren Konch is a JCB operator, and Ramasish Mahato hails from Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.

Meanwhile, Hiren Koch’s family members have shown a big sigh of relief on the rescue. After conducting health and medical checkup both will be handed over to the family members who have reached the Longding township. The police sources said.

Earlier, three persons were abducted reportedly by NSCN (K-YA) militants and of which one, Bangphua Wangpan, was released the next day. The sources added.
