Tuki lauded the role of AAF for promotion of music and culture in the state

NIRJULI, APRIL 26: The former Chief Minister and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki has lauded the role of Arunachal Artistes Forum (AAF) for promotion of song, music and culture of  state through  the voice of artistes.


Tuki was addressing the Concluding function of the 17th Foundation day celebration of AAF from April 20 to 24th here on Saturday. Tuki said the song, music and culture go together has a greater role in molding the society. Music is heard and played at any point of time including during happiness and sorry. There are music and songs for all occasions and the general public love to listen on several occasions which change minds for a good cause. Tuki said

There is no dearth of talent among our tribal people but need proper training and guidance so that our artistes also become professional and are able to earn for economic upliftment and sustainable development. He urges upon the artistes community to guide the younger generation in the right direction in molding their future and future of the society. Tuki added.


He further appealed to all sections of society to obey the Covid SoP issued by state government health department, respective district administration in fight against the Coronavirus the pandemic.


AAF Chairman Takam Dado Tallom in his address informed the gathering that we have planned for a huge gathering of all artistes and legendary and senior and prominent artistes from all the district and delegates but due to Covid protocol we have reduced and minimized all the activities but also the enthusiasm of the artistes community and Executive members of the organisation has not been affected and we have celebrated in low profile. It was a symbolic celebration, he said.
The artistes community has been doing their activities and shouldering the responsibility as responsible citizens and taking part in the progress and development of state in all Front but the expectation from the society is not upto the mark like in other parts of the country. We have submitted a six point memorandum to the state government which include pension for artists of above 60 years, establishment of training Institute, 5% job reservation, declaration of foundation day of AAF as state calendar event, grant in aid, the renowned and legendary artist name to be remembered by renaming of community and cultural hall of district as a mark of respect and others.

Legendary artistes Moge Doji, Bengis Hemanta, Dr Nabam Tata, were felicitated for their life time achievement with citation while Late Taro Chatung (posthumously), Late Techi Mecha (posthumously) were remembered with award and citation were given away.

Senior artist award were given away to Taba Yall Nabam, Bengia Tabb, Goto Ete, Hage Tade, Sida Banor (posthumously), JB Nabam, Tsingpa Norbu, Teli Dimin, Leegang Anya, Toi Kato(posthumously), Sala Goba
Several awards were also given away to prominent artistes and budding artistes of state on the occasion.
