Transport Minister Nakap Nalo flagoff two Force AC vehicles for Guwahati Airport

ITANAGAR, Aug 23: Much to the delight of people of ICR traveling to Guwahati to catch plane to travel to other states for emergency medical problems, personnel work etc, Transport, Civil aviation  and Tourism  Minister, Nakap Nalo flagged off two force AC passengers vehicle  that will play from Itanagar to Guwahati airport daily.  

Passengers from Itanagar  will not have to go through the hassle of taking cabs and taxis after reaching Guwahati via other modes of transport as the vehicles will drop them directly at the airport. Nalo said.

General Manager PN Thungon,  Station superintendent  Tuter Dulom , and other officials of the transport department attended the flag off ceremony at 4 AM at old APST station at Ganga market.

Speaking to the media,  Nalo said that the two vehicles were introduced as part of the transport department’s commitment to provide easy ,safe and reliable transport services at reasonable and affordable fares.

” The two vehicles will especially benefit people in medical emergencies, especially those who are taking their patients out of the state as the vehicles will drop them directly at the airport,” he said.

Nalo also informed that other modes of transport services like Xylo, Tata Sumo introduced by the department provide smooth services in many districts except Upper Subansiri, where ‘Xylo’ transport service had to be stopped due to the ongoing  construction of Trans Arunachal Highway.  

With regard to providing service to Mohanbari airport, Nalo said that I have asked the officers to study the feasibility and requirement and passenger movement to Dibrugarh and based on that will provide vehicles if required.

Talking on the safety of passengers traveling in APST vehicles, Nalo informed that very soon GPS will be installed in all vehicles plying under Transport Department to ensure safety of passengers. 

The station suptd Tutor Dulom informed that both the vehicles would leave their station at 4:00 am, and  reach Guwahati airport at around 12:00 am, then depart from Guwahati Airport   at 2:00 pm , and arrive back at the station in itanagar at around  10:00 pm midnight. The vehicle will also visit at ISBT Guwahati to see that any passengers willing to come directly to Itanagar can avail the facility.

 “Both the vehicles will run on alternate days and tickets will be available both online and offline,” he Informed.
